Put in under your seat.
In our search for the best underseat subwoofer, we found the Kenwood KSC-SW11 was the best that we could find – it not only packs a punch at a reasonable price but it has a sleek body frame that will be a stylish addition to your vehicle. If you need a underseat powered subwoofer on the lower end of the price spectrum, we recommend getting the Pioneer TSSWX2502, besides coming from pioneer a recognized audio part manufacturer, it’s a small car subwoofer but still packs a punch.
Underseat vs. regular woofers
Many people associate the size of a woofer with the power that it packs which is entirely not true when the base of a woofer will depend on many different factors – design, power, and shape.
When it comes to getting a woofer for your car/ truck, it might be a problem if you are carrying around kids or pets. Space is very precious when you are carrying other people, so it’s essential that you get a sound system that won’t take up too much space but also will provide that bass in your songs.
Choosing the right audio set for your car will be a challenge if you don’t know what you are looking for. Ideally, you want something that can tuck under the passenger or driver seat and still is compatible with the current stereo system you have installed.
If this task is daunting, check out the list of the five under seat subwoofers that we found to have surpassed their peers.

#5 Pioneer TSSWX2502
At number 5 is the Pioneer TSSWX2502, although it came last on our list, it still manage to beat all the other under seat subwoofers that we looked at. The first you’ll notice that this is a [Pioneer’s] product so that should give a good idea of the quality of a product. Furthermore, we found the Pioneer to be an excellent choice if you are riding in a pickup truck or something similar.
- Compact enclosure
- 300w RMS
- All mounting hardware included
- Robust quality build
- Bulkier than some of the other models on this list
- Wiring not included

THE VERDICT: The Pioneer TSSWX2502 is an excellent model to pick up if you are looking for a quality system but don’t want to stretch your budget too much. In fact, a lot of customers have gone and bought two of these bad boys since they’re that inexpensive – they’ve gone and hooked up both of em’ and just run their music on full blast. Here’s the thing, if you can overlook the minor drawbacks that are associated with the Pioneer TSSWX2502, we have no doubt you will adore this beast of an audio system.
#4 Rockford Fosgate R2S-1X10
If you own a single cab pickup vehicle or something similar, the Rockford Fosgate R2S-1X10 is just for you – it’s small enough that it’ll fit in your car, but it also packs a punch. The one that distinguishes the R2S-1X10 from the other models on this list is the fact that you’ll need an amp source and mounting hardware to setup the Fosgate in your vehicle.

- Robust body frame
- Can be connected to your car stereo head unit

If you’re not really into DIYing do not have the time to setup a sound system, we do not recommend getting the Rockford Fosgate – we recommend just getting our top pick, the Kenwood KSC-SW11. Otherwise, if you don’t mind spending some extra time setting up the Rockford Fosgate, you should have no problem using.
# 3 Sound Storm LOPRO
In the middle of the pack is the Sound Storm LOPRO – this is powerful under seat subwoofer that will be a powerhouse and give you that base and low-frequency that you’re looking for.
When we compared the LOPRO to some of the other subwoofers that we were looking at, its pros overshadowed its drawbacks, but found it to be a quality product, so we decided to add it to t his list. First things first, you can get the LOPRO in a 600 watt 8-inch model or as a 1200 watt 10-inch mode. We found the differences in both these models to be legible outside the sheer power.
- Most powerful, compact subwoofer kit
- Excellent Low- end frequency performance
- Durable Casing
- Wired remote with mounting (easy placement)
- Small footprint (saves space
- Mounting kit not included with unit
- Installation Cable not included

THE VERDICT: If you are willing to overlook the fact that the LOPRO doesn’t come with an installation kit, you should be satisfied that the LOPRO is an affordable pick-up. The LOPRO is optimal for people that soundbox comparable to a subwoofer you find in trucks.
#2 KICKER 11HS8
Coming in at number 2 is the Kicker 11HS8 – this is the subwoofer you should buy if you want the best bang for your buck. [Kicker] is a known manufacturer in the audio space and have a lot of loyal customers that will tell you that you shouldn’t buy anything but the products from Kicker. It might sound cliché but when we say that you are getting the most value for your money hear us out.
Out of all the features that are included on the Kicker, the one that stood out the most to us was the metal mounting on the remote of the 11H58. The worst thing is losing the remote to your subwoofer so with the 11HS8 you don’t have to worry about digging around your vehicle to find it.
- Intense 150 watt RMS amplifier
- Easy to Use – Plug and Play
- Small Footprint
- All installation equipment included
- Bit larger than most undersea units
- Installation will be hard if you’ve never installed one before
THE VERDICT: The 11HS8 has an excellent balance between size and power. The 11H28 doesn’t take up too much space but it also still packs a punch with its small body frame. If you’re willing to overlook the quality of build that the people at Kicker have claimed to fix, then you should have no problem with this unit.
#1 Kenwood KSC-SW11
We had to give the main award of the best powered car subwoofer to the Kenwood KS-SW11 – this is the best compact subwoofer. This under the seat car subwoofer might look tiny, but it packs a punch underneath the shell. This 5 x 8 subwoofer woofer is decked with 150 watts which are enough power to match with the big boy subwoofers that you find in trucks.
What we loved most about this bad boy is that it can fit underneath the driver and passenger seat with any trouble. If you’re carrying a baby or even have kids, you’ll want to invest in a small subwoofer.
- Everything provided – plug and play
- Small Foot print – takes up little space
- All installation parts provided
- Wired remote included in package
- 75w RMS
- Not as “powerful” as some of the other bigger subwoofers out there
- No cooling unit – just a heat sink underneath the unit
- Lackluster Installation Manual
THE VERDICT: The features, size, and features on this Kenwood make it an excellent choice for those of you that want a good music system while you’re driving but don’t want to annoys those nearby. We recommend the KSC-SW11 to all of you that are willing to invest a little more for a music powerhouse that provides you a musical paradise while you are on the road – without breaking your bank or taking up too much space in your vehicle.
