The 10 Incher
If you’re looking around for the best 10 inch subwoofer you are in the right place – we’ve made a comprehensive guide to what we think the top 10 inch subs are! Taking everything into account (space, price, quality) there can be a lot to consider when you are in the search – but what we found is that the JL Audio 10W6v3 – its an affordable ten incher that has the specs to back it up, we don’t think you’ll find another model of its kind. Read the full review below!
Which size should I get?
But what if you want a 8 inch or something even bigger like a 12 inch or 15 inch – that’s something you’ll have to fully think out regarding your budget and space that you have in your vehicle. We found that in most cases, a price is not an issue given that it will only be a few bucks off but rather, the size of a sub will be the biggest tipping out. You know your car better than we do. Are you carrying children? Do you have a lot of guests ridding with you? If you do, you should opt for a smaller subwoofer otherwise you won’t be able to fit everyone.
Should you get an enclosure with your subwoofer?
First off – you may be asking, what’s the point of getting an enclosure if I already have a sub? Great question, buying a sub will already take a music game up. But an enclosure and a sub? That’s a whole new level when it comes to listening to music in your car.
What we found is that if you combine a sub with an amp and enclosure box. Your music game will be miles, kilo-miles, deca-miles, (you get the idea) ahead of your friends. You better watch out because when you stop at a red, all the people around you are going to be glancing and wondering HOW YOU ARE JAMMING OUT THAT HARD!
Here’s the point, and say what you will be with every addition of an audio component whether it be an enclosure, sub or speaker – keep bumping up your music game!
#1 JL Audio 10W6v3
The first on the list is the JL Audio 10W6v3 – with all the ten inches that we looked at, and we could not find another like the 10W6v3, we could not find another model that came close to producing a clearer sound.
The power and sensitivity on the 10W6v3 were on another level with the 10W6v3 – with 600w, we found that it was optimal when trying to obtain those high beats. If you do have more power though, just know that you can pump more power into it if need be.
Another thing about the 10W6v3 is that the voice coils are massive – this correlates to better sound quality and better listening experience overall. We were pleasantly surprised with the sound quality coming out of the 10W6v3. P.S – if you have the chance, you should check out when these guys, disassemble the sub, it’s a bit hard to watch, breaking down a work of art, but at the same time, it is interesting to see what’s on the inside.
As a side note, the 10W6v3 are made in the USA which is nice because its just an extra stamp of quality – the units themselves are handcrafted!
The 10W6v3 are strapped with dual voice coils that allow users to wire it at 2 or 8 ohms.
Overall, if you are willing to spend a little bit more money to buy quality, premium 10-inch subwoofer then we think you’ll do fine with the 10W6v3. As the adage goes, buy it once, and use it for life!
#2 Rockford Fosgate P300
If our first pick is out of stock, we recommend gong with the Rockford Fosgate P300 – these are another quality ten inches that couldn’t quite make the first place spot off a few drawbacks, but we found it still quite good. The P300 are bestsellers in their respective category which should tell you a little about the build itself.
We suppose the most important thing that people would care about is the power and sensitivity of these things – the P300v is charged with an 82db base output. On a scale – this isn’t the best, but you certainly are getting what you pay for.
The ease of construction on the P300 is pretty straightforward – just plug it in, and you are ready to jam out to all your music. We also found that the P300 is conservative on the space so even if you fit a couple of kids in the back, you can just stuff the P300 in your vehicle as it won’t take up too much space.
For the most part, the P300 is powerful enough that I’ll serve the needs of most people, but if you need something more powerful, we recommend going with our main pick. The value vs. price ratio on the P300 is fantastic – we found that you are getting way more than what you are paying for.
#3 Orion HCCA104
For our budget pick we recommend going with the Orion HCCA104 – while it is the cheapest on this list, we also found that it is the loudest. So for all you people out there that need a model that will annoy the people around you – get the HCCA104! Out of all the models on this list AND even the ones that we could find on the market – by far the subwoofer with the loudest audio award has to go to the HCCA104.
The HCCA104 has an 84db sensitivity so immediately, that should tell you how freaking loud this thing is. You know those people that love to leave their windows open while they drive? We double dare you – get this and try it out, you’ll get a lot of sweet looks from the people around you.
The HCCA104 is strapped with dual voice coils which not only give it a clearer sound (without distortion) but also makes sure that it is staying cool in the hot summers.

Wrapping it up
